exp catch-up system

Hello again!

I am currently throwing around the idea of some sort of experience catch-up system... The basis of the experience catch-up system would be to allow lower leveled / not so elite (probably considered as those not in the top 10 for a profession, for example) to play catch-up.

Perhaps someone sitting in the top 10 list for a profession can earn less experience than someone who is not... which gives others a chance to catch up.

Anyway - lets see what you think before we develop this idea any further!

I think it's a cool idea. Get people to maybe get a bit more excited about playing, and keep playing.

Though those on the WoS might not take to it as they would have to continue to work at a profession, instead of maxing it, then switching.

I'm all for it though.

How about creating a fair EXP system to begin with, where all professions are on an even playing field before we "catch-up". Someone who has spent 40 hours grinding should be rewarded with their higher rank, than someone who can "catch up".

The EXP gain or "catch-up" system would be on a per profession basis... so you, being in top 10 for farming for example... won't affect your exp for... smithing, if your not in top 10.

There is no need, at least with this idea, to level all the profession experience gains.

It's ok but i do not think that people in the top 10 should be fined for being active and good. maybe i am saying this because i am 1 of them.

SO i would say no. Because i dont think it is right for us to level up slower because we are in the top 10

If you remain active, even though you earn less experience, you will still hold the lead... because as soon as someone hits top 10, they get lower experience.

It just means you get more competition. People aren't interested in trying to find an extra two years of experience to catch up. Its just not possible.

I have to agree with AJ on this. If attaining that goal of ANY spot on the WoS isn't seen as a doable thing, why would people want to play, let alone join?

It is really a fair thing since if you stay active and keep earning exp. Then those of us are gaining a bit more will take long enough to make it to the top-ten to give you the chance to elevate yourself farther!

Then of course once you hit the top-ten you get the same exp as the others in the top-ten. How is that not fair?

I honestly very much disagree with this idea. People in the top ten are thier because they've earned it. It's allot of work (and posiably allot of money donating) to get where they are. Doing this would make allot of thier work wasted.
