weapon and armor damages

Hmm...

Weapon and armor damages were implemented to try and give smiths an extra use and / or increase the demand for smithed weapons and armor. But you know what? It appears nobody seems to have damaged weapons and armor!

Maybe the latest changes to battling / fighting will see some nasty damage inflicted on weapons and armor... we will just have to wait and see.

If it doesn't, I'm thinking we need to up the damage to weapons and armor so that it has some kind of effect.

I don't see why pick prices have anything to do with this...
I mean, unless it's set up to use loads of ores to repair things. It could be set up as a "level" type thing. For instance my Debonuts Cup has 9 damage it only takes a few ores, however it would take more to repair something that is much more heavily damaged.

You might be able to use the mining and Alchemist professions in this as well. For instance you mine some rare jewel/gem, the alchemist perfects it, and the smither puts it into the item and gives it increased durability or some other effect.
